It is a specialty that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases caused by microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi. Outpatients are followed up and treated in the Infectious Diseases Polyclinic, and they are hospitalized when necessary. In addition, patients from other departments who are hospitalized in our hospital are also followed up and treated in terms of infections. Tests for the detection of disease-causing microorganisms are carried out in the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory affiliated to the department. In our Clinical Microbiology Laboratory, tests related to bacteriology (bacteria), virology (virus science), mycology (fungus science), parasitology (parasite science) and serology (the science that studies antibodies against microorganisms in the blood) are performed. Our department also develops strategies and takes measures to prevent nosocomial infections in our hospital.
Our Hand Infection Diseases Polyclinic is located on the 1st floor of D block.
Our inpatients are followed in our 6th floor A block service.
